^Accompanying persons will not have access to conference sessions or coffee and lunch breaks from 4-6 June 2018. However, they are welcome to join conference participants for the social events (i.e. welcome reception on Sunday evening, conference dinner on Monday evening and social programme on Tuesday evening).
*The deadline for early registration is midnight (Central European Summer Time) on 1 April 2018.
Please note that the registration fee includes the scientific programme fee and the social programme fee. The scientific programme fee is not liable to VAT according to German tax law § 4 No. 22a UStG. The social programme fee will be taxable according to:
- Companies located in Germany: 19% German VAT applies. Please provide your company's VAT No. during registration.
- Companies located in other EU countries: German VAT does not apply. Please note that reverse-charge procedure applies. Please provide your company's VAT No. during registration.
- Companies located outside EU: German VAT does not apply.
- Individuals and participants from scientific organisations: 19% German VAT applies.

Accompanying persons are welcome to join conference participants at the Welcome Reception, the Conference Dinner and the Social Programme.
On-site-registration will start on Sunday, 3 June 2018, 18:00 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Berlin, Germany.
Take advantage of the lower registration fee before 1 April 2018.
Only registration made via our webshop will be accepted. Accepted payment methods include credit card payment and bank transfer (please note that bank transfer is only possible for Germany). For bank transfer, payment must be made in EURO after receiving the invoice.
Cancellations have to be sent to the Institute of Energy Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering (IEC) in text format. For cancellations received before 4 May 2018, a handling fee of 100 EURO will be deducted from the refund. No refund will be possible for cancellations received after 4 May 2018.
Substitution of conference participants may be made at any time by notifying the conference office. If the substitute participant does not meet the same discount requirements as the registered participant, the difference will be charged. Please notify the conference organising office of any name changes of participants in advance.
The conditions for cancellation after 4 May 2018 also apply to registered participants who cannot attend the event due to last minute changes in plans.
The conference hotel Intercontinental Berlin will be reserving rooms for conference participants until 20 April 2018 (while availability lasts). A special conference rate is available for conference participants for room reservation between 3-6 June (160€/185€ for single/double rooms with breakfast). Please note that there is limited availability for this special rate. As such, we encourage conference participants to make their room reservations as early as possible.
Room bookings can be made directly with Intercontinental Berlin per telephone at +49 30 260 20 or per web link, which will be available on 30 September 2017. To enjoy the special conference rate, please indicate the booking code "International Freiberg Conference" while carrying out your room reservations.
A conference abstract book will be provided to each conference participant. All presentations will be published on the conference archive website with the ISSN 2363-8702. For more information, please refer to author’s guidelines.
Please indicate during the registration process if you require a letter of invitation to apply for a German VISA. Please inform yourself if you require a VISA to enter Germany on the webpage of the local German Embassy in your home country.
Invitation letters will only be issued following successful registration via our webshop (for credit card payment). Please note that for payment via bank transfer, invitation letters can only be issued after we have received an email with a scan verifying the bank transfer.
The conference language is English. Translation service is not available.
